Artist Of The Week: 4th & Orange

Long Beach, CA natives, 4th & Orange are emerging in the scene with a unique blend of hip-hop, pop, rock, and cool reggae. The band was co-founded by longtime friends Garrett Douglas and Chris “DJ Irey” Garcia, and also includes Ricardo Santiago, Alex Bursztyn, and Sam Ward. Garrett and Garcia named the project 4th & Orange to represent the intersection in Long Beach that they feel closely tied too. Their debut single, ‘Girl Next Door’ took summer 2019 by storm, and they were greeted by an immense amount of positive feedback, including more that 2.5 million individual views on YouTube.

“We’re a perfect example of what happens when you grow up in such a diverse place like Long Beach”. “Opposite sounds start to blend, stories range through so many relatable lessons, and differences are almost pushed aside completely so we can figure out how to come together and form a band that will reach almost every type of listener.”

4th & Orange are the latest band to sign through Atlantic Records and Latium Entertainment’s join venture. They kicked off 2020 with their festival debut at One Love Cali Reggae Fest, where they played along side Sublime with Rome, and Dirty Heads. A few weeks later they played at Arizona Roots Music & Arts Festival in Chandler, AZ. They headlined Reggae 360’s Summer Kick Off virtual festival, and performed a thirty min set in the 6pm PT / 9pm ET hour on June 5th at the virtual Stash Bash, held out of Boston, MA. This event was a mix of musical performances along with cooking segments, marijuana product reviews, guest speakers, giveaways and more.

With over 5 million streams to date, 4th & Orange are fast tracking their way to become a household name. They’ve released a single ‘Story of My Life’ with a nostalgic animation video created by Toon 53 Productions to go with it. You can watch the video for it below. Also, in light of the COVID pandemic, they released ‘Not the End’, a single that pushes positivity and reinforces unity, to give people a sense of light during the dark times we are all now facing.
