Pollyanna Release Show for “Slime”

On July 8th, Pollyanna held their album release show at the House of Independents in Asbury Park, NJ. “Slime” is the fourth album from the New Jersey punk band, and delves into a grungier sound, while celebrating sex positivity. Vocalist Jill Beckett doesn’t hold back within the songs, showcasing the raw emotions felt when dealing with relationship troubles. This unapologetic attitude transcends onstage as well – creating a vibe within the room that brings everyone together on some level.

Pollyanna had some fun bands come out to play along side them for the night. Range Life, Fox Teeth, Jhariah, and Late Waves all had a killer set to get the crowd amped up for Pollyanna. The House of Independents was packed from front to back with anticipation and excitement all night. There was no doubt that everyone who came out just wanted to have a good time and enjoy some of their favorite bands. Pollyanna wasted no time in bringing the energy level to 100% — and keeping it there all night. The crowd cheered, laughed, sang and danced and maybe a little moshing too! All in all, the release show was more than a success, Jill said she “couldn’t believe how many people came out tonight”, and the pure happiness from the band carried into the room.
