5 Seconds of Summer ‘Take My Hand Tour’, Philadelphia, PA

The Take My Hand tour made its stop at the Skyline Stage in Philadelphia on July 6th. Fans were eager to secure their spot to see 5 Seconds of Summer, and began queuing for the show as early as 4am! This was a highly anticipated tour, being that it was originally set to run in summer of 2020. So naturally fans were extra excited that their show date was finally here.

Pale Waves, a rock band from Manchester, are joining them on the tour, and have previously toured with The 1975. Kicking off the night, they played songs such as “She’s My Religion”, “Fall to Pieces”, and ended their set with “There’s a Honey”. The crowed loved them, with many already knowing their songs and singing along. During their set they made it known that support the LGBTQIA community, and were met with cheers of approval. They have a new album, Unwanted set to release August 12th, and you can pre-order it here.

After their set the crowd anxiously awaited for 5 Seconds of Summer to take the stage. I had the pleasure of chatting with some fans on the barricade that said they had driven 14 hours just to be there! (Now that’s dedication). When they walked out they were met with cheers, yells and WOOOOs! to get them amped up to start their set. Opening with “No Shame” and flowing right into “Easier” the vibes were set. Fans sang and danced along, jumping to the beat. Luke, Michael, Calum and Ashton would take short talking breaks throughout the set to make some jokes with the crowd, and even sang happy birthday to Ashton, as his birthday was the following day! They closed out the night with “Ghost of You” and “Youngblood”, making it a perfect end to a fun summer night. You can still catch the Take MY Hand tour! Check out the dates that are left on their website.
