On March 21st, Relient K’s Um Yeah tour made its stop a the TLA in Philadelphia. Joining them on their run is Semler, a queer indie-folk, singer songwriter, who expresses their experiences growing up within the Christian community through their music. When they came onstage, fans cheered, ready to hear some good music! Following their previous successful EP, Preacher’s Kid, they released Late Bloomer on October 22nd, and BOTH releases reached #1 on Christian Music itunes chart. In-between songs, they bantered with crowd, sharing stories of youth group and life, which others cheered on. Keep your eyes peeled for some exciting news from Semler in the near future!!
Relient K, every popular Christian rock band, filled the rest of the night with both old classics from their early years to newer music as well. Never a dull moment, especially opening up with “Who I Am Hates Who I’ve Been”, the crowd jumped, and sang along, throughly enjoying every moment. As their setlist progressed, they played more of their older hits such as “Sadie Hawkins Dance”, and closed the night out with their most popular song, “Be My Escape”.
