Artist of the Week: OUTATIME!

Outatime! is a Pop Punk band from sunny Orlando, Florida. Formed in 2015 by Mike Forbes (vocals) and Justin Robinson (guitar) after forming a friendship over hockey, dad jokes, and pop-punk music. Over the years they linked up with James Marlowe (guitar), Nikk Serrano (bass/vocals), and Tony Alicea (drums) to form what is now known as Outatime! The band brings together a nostalgic feel of the genre with riffs reminiscent of the old Drive Thru Records days, but with lyrics that deal with real-life situations and relatable issues. Outatime! brings an energetic aura to every show and the energy can even be felt through their recordings!

The band first emerged in the alternative music scene with their debut track, “Can You Not?” in 2016. The group has since gained notable traction within the community, performing alongside the likes of Bayside, Neck Deep, Belmont, Calling All Captains, We Were Sharks, and Meet Me @ The Altar. They were also featured on the “Bar Down Breakdown” and were a part of the 2020 lineup for Hope Fest. Outatime! boasts a distinct skate punk inclination, drawing on thrashing instrumentals and catchy, relatable lyrics to create a signature sound that’s earned them apt comparisons to New Found Glory and Saves The Day.

Backed by a growing collection of singles, the band dropped their first EP ‘Mindset,’ in February of 2020. The compilation featured three previously-released songs, including the fan-favorite track, “Autumn Eyes,” as well as four new, high-energy tracks. They rounded out the second half of the year with their latest single, “Husky Fight,” which is a fast and catchy track that deals with the serious topics of anxiety and depression. The band has also released a cover of Machine Gun Kelly’s hit, “Forget Me Too.” The band is currently working on their first full-length album, ‘No Boundaries,’ which is set to release in 2021. The album dives full force into emotional thematics, spurred in part by the events of 2020, and addressing the concepts of anxiety, familial challenges, and just about everything in between.
