Q: Introduce yourself in 6 words or less.
Brandon: Oof, discount Myles Kennedy & Friends.
Q: During the Covid-19 Quarantine, a lot of people spent time doing things they normally wouldn’t have done…did you pick up any new hobbies or learn any new skills?
Justin: I spent a good chunk of that time writing & tracking new song ideas. Because the guys & I weren’t able to physically get together, I started tracking song ideas on my MacBook. I would email them both what I’d been working on & they would add more to it & email it back. It’s been a fun & different process of working on music in this way, but it’s made the songs come together more quickly.
Q: What do you miss the most about touring?
Jalen: I miss seeing new places & interacting with all of our fans that have been so loyal to us & any possible new fans that we may make along the way.
Q: Do you have any Post-Quarantine plans?
Justin: We’re currently promoting our new EP, Animus (October 2020), & we’re finalizing which songs will be on our next EP for 2021. This has been a very reflective time. It’s so important to be with those you care about. This year has definitely taught us how fragile life really is.
Q: Whats one personal item you absolutely can not tour without?
Brandon: Rubiks Cube. It’s like my fidget spinner, but for the high brow community.
Q: What are the Top 3 artists you are inspired by?
Justin: For me, personally, Alter Bridge. They have been my main musical influence for many years. I continue to find depth in their music & it encourages me to continue writing. I have always been a massive fan of George Michael. I love his style & the charisma he always seemed to share. I’ve recently been getting into Charlie Puth. I love how he’s blending older & newer elements into his music.
Q: Any words of wisdom for someone who may draw their inspiration from you?
Jalen: Don’t try to be someone else. Originality is such a rarity these days because everyone’s trying so hard to copy others that a lot of us have forgotten what it’s like to just be ourselves.
