Quarantine Q&A Vol.2 #20: Emily Daccarett

“For designer Emily Daccarett fashion and music can not be separated. Daccarett creates an immersive world of storytelling through music, film, and fashion. She graduated from Instituto Marangoni in Paris and the prestigious Ecole De La Chambre Syndicale de La Couture Parisienne. Soon
After graduating from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles. She made her runway debut with Concept Shows during LA Fashion Week. Now she is pushing the boundaries of her imagination through synth-pop. Think of Blondie and David Lynch having a baby in 2020 and that’s the direction her music takes.”

Q: Introduce yourself in 6 words or less
A: Just a goofy, passionate, childlike artist.

Q: During the Covid-19 Quarantine, a lot of people spent time doing things they normally wouldn’t have done…did you pick up any new hobbies or learn any new skills?

A: I picked up live streaming concerts, which is something I never really wanted to do but now I think it’s so much fun. I re-carpeted my dad’s boat and finally tried water skiing. I came to quarantine at my parent’s house in the countryside surrounded by lakes, and we went boating at least 3x a week.

Q: What do you miss the most about touring?
A: I miss interacting with people. I really enjoy meeting new people, drinking/partying with new friends….. it’s crazy to think we wont be able to do that so freely for some time.

Q: Do you have any Post-Quarantine plans?
A: I plan to travel and play some gigs out of the country. I also want to visit friends and family that live out of the country and finally go to Hawaii.

Q: Whats one personal item you absolutely can not tour without?
A: A cosy oversized hoodie…… wherever there is AC I need a hoodie 😊

Q: What are the Top 3 artists you are inspired by?
A: I love Lana Del Rey, Serge Gainsbourg, and David Bowie.

Q: Any words of wisdom for someone who may draw their inspiration from you?
A: Sometimes you feel like nobody is watching or listening, but if you stick with it you will start to find the people you have reached with your music. It’s ok if it takes a little longer than others, just be the unique person that you are and your tribe will find you!
