“PERSEIDE was born from four childhood friends who decided to form a rock band in 2001, as they were just teenagers. Ten years later, they were crossing the frontiers to share their music widely. After two EP released, a signing to OrageRock label, thousands of gigs across France, Europe and even in the USA, with bands like Soilwork, Betraying The Martyrs, Cancer Bats, We Butter The Bread With Butter, Protest The Hero… The story is still being written today. In 2018, they decided to go into the studio again to record their debut album, which is going to be released early 2020. PERSEIDE is still there, stronger than ever and ready to take these four eternal teenagers as far as possible…”

Q: Introduce yourself in 6 words or less.
A: Friendship, brotherhood, love, rock and roll
Q: During the Covid-19 Quarantine, a lot of people spent time doing things they normally wouldn’t have done…did you pick up any new hobbies or learn any new skills?
A: Julien (vocals/rhythm guitar): As we are no professional musicians, each member of the band usually spends a lot of time at work… Personally, I can’t find the time to train every day on my voice or guitar. During the lockdown, I took advantage of the situation to work on my vocal and guitar skills… I literally made my fingers bleed playing these strings!!! On the other side, we took this opportunity to enjoy little things… As I spent time cooking with my family and practicing my English skills… some members of the band spent time masturbating!!! (Laughs)
Q: What do you miss the most about touring?
A: The groupies!!! (Laughs) Seriously, we really miss the atmosphere and all the crazy meetings you can make while touring… When we are performing on stage, all we want for our listeners is to enjoy. To feel free to love the music as we love it. In a day of your life, you can be happy, sad, angry or crazy. The best way to live these emotions is to let them flow through you and to express them without holding back… That’s what we want to share during our live shows: you can be all these things at once and the music helps us to escape; even for the time of a concert. Living and sharing this
with our listeners to make them live these emotions with us and feel better is the more important thing for us, and that’s what we miss the most during this crisis.
Q: Do you have any Post-Quarantine plans?
A: We just released our first album “The Only Thing”. The next show will take place to celebrate the release of the album, November 7th, 2020 in the CCO, Lyon, France. It will be a big rock party with our friends from Stereotypical Working Class and Trank, and we will propose a rock show with a lot of surprises! Furthermore, we are already working on new songs to record a new EP end 2020. A live video will be recorded during the concert for the release of the album, and 2021 will be marked with the release of new music videos and the new EP. We hope that it will allow us to book some great gigs with bands we love, and keep the inspiration to write new songs and make the experience even greater!
Q: Whats one personal item you absolutely can not tour without?
A: Guillaume (bass): I can’t separate from my favourite beer bottle! (Laughs)
A: What are the Top 3 artists you are inspired by?
Q: Without hesitation, the bands that had influenced us the most are: Enter Shikari, The Used and In Flames
Q: Any words of wisdom for someone who may draw their inspiration from you?
A: Play what you love. What give you chills. You don’t have to be technical or follow imposed rules. Do what you feel and play it with your heart. Music is made to enjoy and share.
