The 1975 Release Music Video for ‘Frail State of Mind’

By: Kristen Zarra

Following the release of their new song, The 1975 dropped a music video for ‘Frail State of Mind’. The 1975 is constantly pushing the boundaries on how their music, and visuals are seen, and this video is no different. With the old camcorder and grunge style, Frail State of Mind’ will transport you back to the 90s. This song encapsulates their musical style from the previous album, with the funky techno beats and melancholy lyrics.

Singer Matty Healy is seen holding the camera that is linked to a video screen on the back wall, giving and up-close and personal look at what is going on. This video aesthetic references others they have done (Love It If We Made It, I Like America and America Likes Me lyric video) by having a mash up of imagery with lyrics throughout. The 1975 are no strangers to experimenting with their sound and imagery, this sneak peak on what is in store for the new era shows just that.
