Sunday night at The Fillmore Philadelphia was absolute chaos in the best way possible as August Burns Red and The Amity Affliction brought the Spring Horizons Tour 2026 to Philadelphia. Joining them were Heavensgate from Australia and Connecticut heavy hitters Boundaries, creating a lineup that kept the energy at a ten from start to finish.
Heavensgate wasted no time pulling the crowd into the night with a crushing set and an atmosphere that immediately set the tone for what was ahead. Boundaries followed: between relentless breakdowns, nonstop crowd surfers, and some of the coolest lighting. Before one of the final songs, the bassist yelled, “put your fucking girlfriend in the air,” while warning security that this might be the most crowd surfers The Fillmore has ever seen. Their drummer absolutely stole moments throughout the set as well, going off behind the kit while adding vocals that made the performance feel even more chaotic and alive.
The Amity Affliction delivered a set packed with nostalgia, reminding everyone why so many people in the room have connected with their music for years. Hearing older songs like “Don’t Lean On Me” and “My Father’s Son” live again felt emotional in the best way possible, with the entire venue screaming every word back at the band.
Then came August Burns Red, who somehow managed to raise the energy even higher. Crowd surfers flooded the barricade during “Exhumed.” One of the standout moments of the set was an insane drum solo that completely captivated the room and reminded everyone just how talented this band is live.
Partway through the set, August Burns Red introduced something new that they recently began doing after a fan messaged them following their Detroit show. An all girls mosh pit for one song. Watching the crowd open up the middle of the floor for it was genuinely one of the coolest moments of the night and brought such an incredible sense of community to the show.
Their encore was the perfect ending to an already amazing night. Between the energy and insane musicianship, The Spring Horizons Tour 2026 proved exactly why metalcore shows still feel unmatched when experienced live.
