Badflower took over Union Transfer on a stormy Thursday Night. They played on April 7th with support from rock duo ‘68. The tour is in support of their most recent album This Is How The World Ends featuring 13 tracks like Family, Only Love and Fuckboi. Philadelphia was the second show on the This is How the World Continues North American tour with 21 stops.
‘68 starts the show with unpredictable music. What I mean by that is you never know where they are going to take the song and you are constantly surprised. You could see the two of them communicating with one another as they performed as if they were playing raw material on the spot. Speaking with the drummer Niko after the show at the merch table I came to find out that my assumptions were right. As the band plays, they improvise based on how they feel and how they are reading the crowd. I think this is so cool and amazing to see live. I recommend people to see them when they can if they like authentic rock n roll. These guys do not mess around.
Badflower played many songs from their new album but did not forget about fan favorites like X ANA X and Ghost. They took an interesting approach to Promise me with a soft and careful performance which blended into Cry booth from their debut album OK, I’M SICK.
