The Night Shift Tour made its stop at The Stone Pony on April 14th. Co-headliners Small Pools and Grayscale brought along a few different openers who rotated throughout the dates. New Jersey was lucky enough to catch The Romance and Fia James.

Both openers captivated the crowd, bringing their own flare to the tour. The Romance popped the night off with their fast paced set list, while Fia James slowed things down with a relaxing and soothing set. As the fog settled after their performances, the fans anxiously awaited for the first headliner—Smallpools.

It took no time for them to amp up the night with their energy and fun music. Fans quickly matched their vibrance, and began singing and dancing along. Smallpools played some favorites including Street Fight, Fake a Happy Face! and Killer Whales. Somehow, a story telling a story about their name popped up along side the killer whales in captivity problems, an inflatable whale made an appearance during the song. Everyone laughed and kept the whale up and bouncing, thoroughly enjoying the funny moment.

Grayscale closed the night out with a mix of fan favorites alongside a couple new songs. It took about 2 minutes for the crowd to get the first surfer up, setting the vibe for the rest of the night. Not only did Collin (vocals) engage with the crowd, he also finds way to entertain the other members of the band. After playing some fan favorites like Just Right, In Violet and Painkiller Weather, they surprised everyone with a new one, Let Go. After hearing it, fans should be excited to what they have up their sleeves next.

The Night Shift Tour still has plenty of dates left for you to catch a show! Be sure to check out if they’re stopping in a city near you; you won’t want to miss it! You can find tickets and dates here.
